Bearings, 1/2 groove or full grove?

Looking at Clevite main bearings on the summit site, and I'm wondering which one is better for a small block??

IMO, on a Small Block Engine, partial grooves is best for Stock Blocks, without Block mods/ and/or line honing to "set" main clrc's.

I don't like the SB Oiling on the #1 main crossover, to the passenger side Lifter gallery to feed the rest of the mains. The full groove on #1 bleeds off too much Oil @ full pressure, prior to feeding the rest of the mains, 2,3,4 & 5.
If you are doing priority Oiling modifications to your Block, then use the full groove.

Just my opinion

it is an ongoing debate , the full groove feeds more oil the the load side of the brg but decreases the surface area
in a big block with correct clearances both will work fine but I still lean towards using full groove brgs

No debate for us on the BB Engines.

We do what "works for us" on BB Mopars, depending upon particular application.

Certainly, from "our" experience anyways, in a "HP" Roller Cam application, conventional BB Mopar engine Engine,

In My Opinion only,

FULL GROOVE Main Brgs,
if simply installed,
devoid of other machining considerations, can cause a whole host of seemingly "mysterious" Top end problems, ESPECIALLY when using Roller Camshafts, on Stroker BB Mopar Engines.

I'm Not saying they won't work well, in stock/mild engines, with Flat Tappet Cams. They do !

I'm also NOT saying, partial groove Mains are the FIX in Roller Strokers, they are NOT.

I'm just saying, that on Roller Cam, BB engines, FULL GROOVE Mains, require ALOT of other issues be addressed in the build, from start to finished product.
Lest a guy ends up all " :shruggy:" and blamingĀ  :brickwall:,

Due to killed Rockers/mysteriously dead/broken Pushrods, etc., etc.

If a guy is building it for a Customer, Thats NO WAY to make money !
