So I bought the conversion kit for my 3310 so I can jet the rear. Wonder where you start and how do you go about tuning with 4 jets now?

start jetting the front while cruzing , then make a full throttle pass & wastch for a color change in the plugs

CFMopar

If im running 73s on the front any idea on what would be a good starting point for the rear?

Oh one more thing. Is it commen that you could suck the rear fuel bowl dry? Some guy was telling me this but I couldnt see it happening...

I would start with around 80 rear jets with no power valve in the rear , if the fuel pump is up to the task it will not starve

CFMopar

Im sure the fuel pump is good to go.

:iagree: 78-80 sounds like a good starting point for the rear.

does it matter which plug you pull to check the jetting? Can I pull number one while tuning the rear jets? number 1 is just so much easier to do when the engine is hot

Chryco Psycho

yes, all the pllugs should be affected by the secondary being opened fully

Ghoste

Does your jetting recommendation matter what the the combo is?

Chryco Psycho

yes but it is a place to start from that should be close

Ghoste

Okay thanks.  I should have been more clear with the question as to asking if the INITIAL jetting recommendations were the same regardless of combo but I think you knew what I meant.  In any case, you still answered it.  You prefer to start fat and lean out or in the middle and go whichever way dictates?

Chryco Psycho

I prefer Fat , it is safer , But I generally start at factory settings & adjust from there , adjusting more than 5 sizes usally indicates you have other problems

Ghoste

Where Thread Marshall is starting on the front, is that also what you would recommend?

Chryco Psycho

you can jet the front at part throttle / cruising , the only way to jet the rear si wide open so you need to have the front dialed in first

Ghoste

A good starting size on the front would be?

Chryco Psycho

what did the carb come from the factory with ? start there

Ghoste

71's I believe.  I have it written down out in the shop.  In any case, that's where I'll start and thanks again.
