Yea, I'd love to pay $300 for a new '68 Charger set minus sholder belts. The good used sets on Ebay are going for $400-$500, restored sets cost $700 or more. Here's a crappy set for a starting bid of $250: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-69-70-Road-Runner-Charger-GTX-Coronet-Seat-Belts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ10076QQihZ004QQitemZ140186496990QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

There's several companies, including snake-oyl, that make brand new, "period correct" type seat belts for a lot less money. I was planning to do that because the seat belt appearance wasn't important to me, but if PG is making the whole set for $299 I'll probably buy a set. They look nice too.

Wow guys, I had no idea! I had never priced seatbelts before :eek2: . I'm glad mine are very nice.   It appears PG will sell a lot at that price.

I just had my complete set re-done in black for my 68 Charger including the double belts for the front bucket seats, the front retractor belts, the shoulder belts and the three sets of belts for the rear seat. The company I had do this for me used 100% correct webbing, thread, stitching, correct date code labels, new elastic bands and snaps, and changed everything over from green to black. My buckles and hardware were in great condition so they just polished the chrome parts. I wouldn`t hesitate one bit to recommend this company to anyone looking to get a set of belts re-done. I paid $325.00 and that included return shipping to me. To say I`m impressed is an understatement, they look like brand new! I know snake oil would have been at least twice the price I paid for this service.

If so impressed why not post the name of the company you used. Shouldn't feel the need to be shy. I'm sure someone else would love to get the same treatment as you did. I know I looked into getting mine redone, but for now they are "good enough" until I start fixing everything else.

I never re-install the old belts in any of the cars that I restore.
Those originals may look good, but I would hate to find out the hard way that they might just fail the ultimate test. The crash test.
New or rewebbed belts are cheap insurance in my opinion.

Do tell. What's the name of that company?

I only want modern 3-point retractables in a cruiser.
They're safer than the old stuff and they're more confortable too.

The original seatbelts can go on the shelf in the attic next to the redline bias-ply tires.

I bought the belts for my chal convert from these guys. I was pleased with them and the price wasn't too bad either. They don't have an exact replacement belt for the mopars yet, but if you're not concerned about exact originality and are concerned about both safety and price, you might check these guys out. I think these guys are providing the belts for some of the other companies out there.
You can order their generic factory appearing 3 point belts and have a pretty nice setup. They weren't real fast on shipping so plan ahead. I'll be ordering from them again in a couple of months. I'm planning on using their 3 point setup in my wife's superbird clone and in my daytona clone as well.

Here's how the retractable early style looked in my convert. No one ever noticed the difference. At least I don't have those loose belts lying all over the seats like the ones in my 71 cuda. I need to order a set for that car now that I think about it.

Ok, here you go for those that are interested. The persons name is Charles Stuart. He owns West Dakota Parts. They are located in Buffalo, Wyoming. Give Chuck a call at 307-684-9297. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to Mopars and was very pleasant to work with. From the time I sent my belts to him and getting them back was about 2 weeks.

I saw new webbing and buckles at Paddocks stand at the Van Nuys Fall Fling in all colors. I think the set was $69.00 front and $69 back.
