Well,
Today I busted out my old slot car track from 1983. I have some new slot cars that I wanted to test out. My daughter really had a good time with me today racing the Mopars. Her favorite is the Yellow Viper, I have the Orange 3rd gen.  :2thumbs: :D
Do any of you guys have any desings or know of a web-site that has Slot Car track lay-out designs? I have the Tyco HO scale.
Does anyone have any track or loops or cliff hangers they want to get rid of?
Thanks, looks like I am going to get addicted to this Slot Car Track this Winter.

I don't know much about them myself but a friend of mine is into it pretty serious so I know you can spend big money on it.  He uses a bigger scale and has a huge track in his basement.  Virtually his whole basement but he's single so he can do that stuff.
Btw, nice t-shirt your daughter picked out for the day.  ;)

We used to race those tyco units back in the 90's. I had a spare bedroom at my house with nothing in it so we set up a track. Ended up being a big track with high bank curves. Did the NASCAR at home on the weekends having some beers in the winter. With the high bank curves you could almost go flat out and stay on the track but you had to be careful. I experimented with tire size and I also found another trick that went un detected for several weeks. That sticky stuff you can hang up posters on the wall with. You could use a little bit of that on the inside of the body to adjust weight of the car and get it to handle better. I tested all week and could go full speed and kicked everybodys butt for a few weeks. Putting it in various areas of thebody got the car to handle better.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

I used to have a bunch of that track stuff too when I was a kid. I had a lot of AFX and old pre-AFX stuff including a LOT of old Aurora cars and mostly track. I had criss cross, squeeze sections, a 4-way intersection, and hills (that made great "Dukes" jumps :D ) Wish I had it all yet. We even used to take alunimum foil, and for it over the plasitic bodys, then paint them up. We did that so when you hit something, it would bend your car up like a real one (sort of). To bad Cudaken isn't around here anymore. I remember he had a thread on this same subject with pics before he pretty much vanished. Here is some of Kens posts on the HO stuff he had/has & pictures.

Okay, I had to dig up the only olddddd pictures from back in the '70s when I had my track. The first 3 are the alunimum foil bodys I made up. We made more, but these are the only pics I have. The decals were from 1/25th scale models.

In the first pic here, that is my best friend at the time, and me with the checker shirt on, playing with my setup in my room. The smaller pic was enlarged to see some of the cars I had. (yellow Datson truck, white Mercury Stock Car, yellow Chevelle Stock Car, yellow Camero to the right). I did own a lot more including all the Mopars and AMC cars you could get back then. I was about 12 when this pic was taken. Yes, those were just a few of the models I built back then. I probably built about a 100 in my time.
