I was raised watching Popeye beat the crap out of Bluto. One of my favorite shows was Rat Patrol. Not to mention The Rifle Man. So I went to school full of hatred and packing heat. Wrong. In School when a fight broke out  some one got their butt kicked. Smart people witnessed that and knew not to get into fights. Guns In school terror alert. We never had any trouble with kids shooting kids in school. You kept your pistol in your pocket because you may not be the only one in class with one. 18 was legal drinking age. We had no crystal meth problem. If you wanted to get buzzed. You got drunk. You got sick and hung over. You learned a lesson. Now you try meth. you get sick and you get hooked on the shit.
How is it that today people no longer have the sense to separate tv from reality. Oh I guess thats why we have reality television because everything on tv is real. and all of the opinions expressed must be true because some celeb says so. And didn't we have this global warming thing happen in the 1930's called the Dust bowl. And freedom of speech meant that An opinion expressed contrary to Sesame Street teaching. was Still A First Amendment Right.  I work hard. I am forced to take drug screening for my job. But The Taxes I pay out for entitlement support checks does not require a drug test  to receive a check. Because it violates the rights of the recipients.
I always thought Sesame Street was stupid  And I believe That in 500 Years the world will be closer to being like it is in the movie Ididocracy than we want to believe.  john

Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1967 - Ants die.
2007 - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Homeland Security and FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

I did the same thing back in 94, but I cut open M80's instead.   I thought that I was being origional, especially with my homemade fuse, (cotton string soaked in water and rubbed with gun powder and allowed to dry).  But I guess it was done before.

Scenario: Jack goes quail hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.
1967 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

One of my friends showed up on a saturday morning to watch game films of the prior nights game.  He had a shotgun and a couple ducks in the back of his truck.  I guess cuz it was the weekend, and his dad was a town cop that made it OK.

This all took place in Commiefornia too.  I wish people would realize that most of CA is actually normal, we just have too many large cities.   :brickwall:

Elmo was a punk-ass ripoff of Grover.  They just wanted to sell a new batch of fuzzy toys.

Dave Chapelle talking about re-watching Sesame Street again as an adult.  It's pretty hilarious:

That's a big ole pile of DOO DOO.  My 5yr old wont even watch the new stuff, he refuses too. He will stay glued to the t.v. when I get out the dvd's with the old bugs bunny and popeye cartoons on it though.   God forbid these PC people would want kids to learn somthing the hard way.  Even the schools have gotten to where they can't keep kids under control in their classes. My son is in kindergarten and they expect him to sit there like a robot and have a 3rd grade education by now.

And let's not forget the ever-popular high school agenda:   Teaching spanish to kids who still can't even speak & read decent english.
