HI Guys I'm considering buying a '67 Charger up here in AK...I keep seeing it on Craigs list and it keeps nawing at me.
Anyway, its a 383 car runs OK with a 4 speed installed (no floor pan and wrong console) floors and 1/4's are rusty. Floors I don't mind but 1/4's scare me since I've never seen any patch panels or repops. I was going to go take a look at it but what else should I look for while I'm there? oh The guy is asking $4000

Thanks

Many of the impossible to find parts are now being reproduced so that will help with the trim items.  When you say wrong console, you are aware that the 66 is the only one with single piece console running front to back?  67 has two consoles and the front one is the same as the 68-70 B-bodies.

Hmmm I thought both '66-'67 had that full lengh console, that helps. Does anyone make patch panels?

That thread above makes my deal seems less attractive, only $900 more for that car (well pictures look better anyway)

Thanks

As for patch panels, let's just say there isn't nearly the variety of choice and quality that are available for 1st gens as there is for 2nd gens.

AKcharger

Yeah... the more I think about it the more I'll stay away unless he drops the price to somthing I can't refuse...like $2000, I still have my  motor to finish in my '72

Well, as much as I've grown to love the first gens I have to say your decision isn't a bad one.  They are an addictive cult niche in the hobby and they are also among the more expensive Mopars to restore so if you have other cars and projects on the go and you are already unsure, there is a good chance you'd just frustrate yourself halfway through.
If you change your mind though, they are a unique and fun car to own.

Replacing Taillights is expensive and Instrument Cluster rebuilds too.

Post that Question here.

www.66-67charger.com.  Everything is replaceable on the 66 67's the hunt may take a bit longer, but there is plenty of southern metal around as well as repro stuff. It can get as expensive as you want it to be.
