Does anyone know if anyone ever built a custom full frame to replace the uni-body frame on a B-Body Mopar? I remember seeing a story in one of the Mopar mags about a Roadrunner a couple of guys built to run in the Silver State Challenge. I think that car had a tube chassis front end, but I'm not sure. I'm just curious if there are benefits to a full frame versus the uni-body design?

Yes there are. :D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

It's been done many times.  Actually, one of our own members has a third gen Charger that he runs in that Silver State Challenge.

If any of you have info or links to info I would appreciate it. I'm going to start on the resto-fa-cation of my 70' R/T this winter, and I'm leaning towards doing something like that.  Thanks.

Me too, as I'm building  a full fiberglass mold off my 70 RR superbird clone , with the tube frame it'd be great to run the challenge :).

RallyeMike is the member who is involved with that.  He has some links in his sig.

Thanks Ghoste, I'll check it out.

Are you gonna road race it Lowprofile?

If so, a tube chassis with a NASCAR type suspension would be friggin' awesome!

I want to be able to road race & still have a cool street ride. I figure if I start the build with that in mind, I can get all the right parts the first time. Frame, Brakes, suspension, etc. I am even thinking about taking off the 70' nose and putting on a 69' 500 nose w/the flush grille. A tube frame would be huge$$$$$$.  NYC's Charger has some very nice frame /chassis mods.  :2thumbs:
