Hi..

I just bought a Dana60 for my rear end, and I heard that I might need a conversion U-joint thing..

Where can I get a hold of such a thing?

I'm swapping out my 8 1/4, so will my driveshaft be strong enough..? I don't know if they're the same in the different rearends...?

Thanks..

You can get the conversion U-joint at most decent auto supply places.  NAPA comes to mind.
However...
With what you are building, I think you will find that your existing driveshaft will not be the right length.  Buy a new one and then you will know it is straight, balanced, the correct length and diameter for your application and you will have new big u-joints as well.

:iagree: New driveshaft and front slip yoke will be needed for this swap. Your old driveshaft/yokes are using the smaller 7260 u-joints which are ok for a smallblock....but the BB and Dana 60 stuff is much heavier duty. The Dana 60 swap also uses a shorter driveshaft as mentioned above.  :yesnod:

So if I get this right, I can contact a dealer, tell them my configuration, and they can sell me a complete kit, that includes everything between the tranny, and rearend..?

Who do I contact..?

Thanks for your reply..

You would probably have better luck finding a shop that custom builds driveshafts locally.  Mopar Performance does offer a driveshaft kit but you are still looking at having it assembled.  If you don't have a local shop, you will have to supply specs to someplace that does them and have it shipped.

I've used these guys a few times. I Just recently purchased Axles for my 93' Ramcharger. They have reasonable prices.

Hi..

Local shops are hard to come by, since I live in Denmark...
