Was wondering if anybody has a preference or recomendation for front shocks on the charger? Also does anybody know what tire size would work best on a 15''-8'' rim for the front of a second gen charger? Thanks in advance Dom

terrible one

It all depends on how much money you got, and what you want the car to do.

But I say affordable, comfortable, MONROES!

Ghoste

That's what's in the front of my car.  :shruggy:

I have kyb shocks all the way around i think they work great , but the new rage is all about the edelbrock ias shocks. :shruggy:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Silver R/T

Koni shocks are one of the best, that's what I would recommend

1968 silver/black/red striped R/T
My Charger is hybrid, it runs on gas and on tears of ricers
2001 Ram 2500 CTD
1993 Mazda MX-3 GS SE
1995 Ford Cobra SVT#2722

Just 6T9 CHGR

Couldnt stand the harshness of the KYB's on crappy NYC streets.  Went back to the Monroe Classics & wont look back

Do you want the car to handle like it's 1968, or today?  I've seen a large number of people who don't like the KYB shocks.  Many that Autocross their Mopars like the Koni if you can find them.  The QA1 Stocker Stars are highly rated.  That's what I just purchased.  They are single adjustable, but I have .99" torsions.  Upgrading torsions and shocks is highly recommended.  I just don't see how the same shock could work properly on a small block, small torsion Satellite, and at the same time work on a Charger R/T with hundreds of pounds more weight and higher spring rates.

Edelbrock IAS is on the way to my project!

KYBs will keep the car off the bumpstops on rough roads.
But they're basically 70s pickup-truck technology.

Konis & Bilsteins are the reliable standbys for decent shocks that actually make the car handle better than stock.

The Qa1s are way-y-y adjustable.
Although I question whether they're any better than a non-adjustable shock that was just built with the right valving in the first place.

The Edelbrocks are a pretty new player in the game but they're already growing a fan base.
They're too expensive but they seem to impress even the jaded.

So what is the correct valving?  Differing vehicle weights (does a Hemi Challenger weigh the same as a 340 'Cuda?), different torsion rates, tire sizes, driving styles...
