no, i dont think so. i ordered an RT/SE in 1971 and got an R/T.  i really liked the SE roof, but you couldnt get both.  in 1970, they did have an RT/SE.

I have loved 71 RT's for 25 years, and I've never wondered about this before! I have never seen one.

Would the half vinyl be SE only in 71, or did plain janes have it too? Both my 72 Rallye's have half vinyl roofs. My 71 RT is full vinyl. I think a 71 with a half vinyl would look funny with the stripe. Maybe not?

No, You could not order a '71 R/T with a Canopy vinyl.  My R/T has one because the original owner wanted to order it with one, but was told it could not be done. So he ordered the car with no vinyl and had the dealership install it.

71 Canopy was SE only according to Color and trim book...

As stated above, canopy tops were not available on R/T's or Super Bees.  They were std. on SE's with an upgrade to full vinyl optional.  The belt line (top of door) bright trim used with the canopy top did a complete loop from the hood and doors up the quarter windows and over the roof.  This bright trim would have looked very awkward right next to the R/T and Bee striping.

So, is yours a stripe delete car?

Neat, but not original to the car.  Top is coded EV2 (Hemi Orange paint - no vinyl) and no belt trim is present.  The white top was added after it was built...

I'm not saying it wasn't possible...  I know better with Mopars, but it wasn't supposed to be available.

Isn't half vinyl coded V4?

Yes... If that car was original, it would have been coded V4W (white).
