Same Old Question, Why are my lights dimming???

I've searched and read the links on the relay upgrade for the lights and I intend to do that upgrade.  However, all my lights dim at low idle, dash lights, tail lights and driving lights.  If i do the relay upgrade that would only fix the drving lights, correct?  Could my voltage regulator be bad also? or resistor?

Thats normal.

The stock Alt setup doesnt charge much at idle.

And the relay upgrade wont fix that problem.

You need to upgrade the alternator or put a smaller pulley on or both to fix it.

I went for overkill and put a alt from an 88 cargo van in mine.

Dig around on this site and you will find what you are looking for.

If you do upgarde to a more powerful alternator, be sure to upgrade your bulkhead wiring; where the AMP gauge is concerned to avoid melt downs. See this important article from "Moparts" tech archieve regarding lights dimming:

Here is an article from Mad Electrical's web site about the AMP meter problem in old Mopars:
