question to gauge restorers

being outside USA is hard that I send to you what I consider an easy fix. Wire between stud and coil around bimetallic got broken just right in the middle. I tried to weld both ends but does look imposible.

How do you repair it ?

was thinking also on crimp both ends with an aluminium plate... maybe that will work ?
