3rd gen rear wheel wells

Looking inside the trunk, why is one kinda squared and the other more rounded? Just wondering because it makes for a wierd non-symetrical carpet cut. :eek2:

The left side wheel well has the fuel tank evaporative system in it. If you look in the wheel well behind the tire it has a flat panel covering the hoses and breather box.

71 R/T is right. That evaporator system I believe  was a one year only thing (1971). Starting in 72 there was a small canister mounted on the frame directly in front of the fuel tank along with the carcoal canister mounted in the engine compartment next to the windshield washer fluid reservoir.

Had the car 73 for 13 years and another and another one before for eight.  didn't notice either until I had the pax quarter cut off and was repairing the quarter extension when I looked at the other side and went what the!!  Thanks for telling why it was there in the first place.

never have seen that. Althought emission controls devices weren't installed down here I can't remmeber anything like that on diagrams.
