Hot wiper switch

Hey guys... My wiper motor works, though it now goes only one speed. It used to go three. However, I pulled the instrument cluster today to clean a few things up and found the pink power wire going into the wiper switch was melted. I can only assume that this is a short at the switch itself and that's why I've lost all other motor speeds. However, I wanted to check to see if it could be anything else befire springing $150 for a new switch.
Thanks much!

Member "devinism" rebuilds these switches and could save you some $$$. He does great work with a quick turn around. I know this from personal experience.

Thanks! I actually just rebuilt the switch. It looks like I'm getting a ground on the blue wire coming into the switch, which is shorting out cause it goes directly to pink(power) based on the switch config. Can anyone confirm that I should be seeing a ground on the blue wire?
Thanks

what does the service manual wiring diagram say where the blue wire goes?

Wiring diagram shows that it goes straight to wiper motor.

Pink is power. Red, green, blue, and brown all go to wiper motor. Brown I believe gets the constant ground but not 100% sure...

Additionally, I believe w pink supplying the power, and brown being ground (?), the other three each get power as the switch activates them, as this is a three-speed motor... Again, not 100% sure, but just what I'm thinking after all of my research. My switch looked good when I took it apart. I went ahead and cleaned it. So I guess it could be grounding out the blue wire at the motor.
