Need help with transmission leak

I had my 727 rebuilt recently and when I added fluid it started leaking. Not bad but just enough to leave a spot on the garage floor. I found the source of the leak. It's a plug at the back just below the tailhousing and above the trans pan. The plug has no way of tightening it. It's not an allen head. It just has a round dimple in the middle so it must be tightened from inside I'm guessing. Is there anything I can put on the outside to stop it from leaking?

Is it the shaft that the rear band linkage pivots on?i believe it slides in from the back of the case and has an o-ring on it to seal it.I might be wrong ,but  thats what it looks like.I think thats how it was on the 518 I rebuilt on my 92 pickup.

The right way would be to partially dissassemble the low reverse band set-up and put in a new o-ring, or there might be a gouge in the sealing surface but you have to drain the fluid and take stuff apart to do that, or the cheap and easy way for now would be to clean the area real well with brake cleaner and then use some good silicone to seal it up.
