Can I use a Power brake mastercylinder on a 70 B-body bigblock car with manual drum brakes???

What are my options as I want to replace the manual master cylinder but none of the parts houses carry the manual one.

The car has front and rear drums that are manual.

What can I use?

I would advise against it for the simple fact that most disc brake masters have a built in residual psi valve built in for the front disc brakes.

Have you tried www.rockauto.com or www.napaonline.com ?  I'm pretty sure the manual drum master is one of the easiest to find.....

Well...the local Autozone does have a manual drum master...but it looks nothing like the original and i just cant bring myself to install such a ugly looking part on my car.

I think I might have read your question wrong.

The "correct" master for either power or manual drum brakes would be the same.

A disc brake master is the one that is different.  A disc brake master bowls are 2 different sizes  (larger for the disc brakes in front) where a drum brake master will have 2 of the same size bowls.

Here is the one that is in my car right now. I am fairly sure it is the original unit.

That looks like a later model service replacement bail style.  IIRC yours should be the bolt down style like I had

If you want the style you already have NAPA has them new....

Residual valves are for the rear drum brakes not the front brakes.   ;) :Twocents:

I thought in 1970 they all went to a bail style??? I will see if I can find a NAPA here in town to try and get one.
I have not seen that bolt on style anywhere for sale either.
