I am getting my car ready for a car show next Saturday.  It is my first show, and I have been working pretty hard to get her a little more presentable.  I have been sanding the clear coat to get rid of orange peel for the last few days, and then have buffed out all the scratches and swirls with 3m Imperial Hand Glaze.  The car looks great, but I need to wax it now.  I had a little Turtle Wax and thought I would just try it to see how it looked on a really small spot.  It totally dulled out my finish!  I need to find a better wax.

My questions:

1.  Should the car be washed after hand glazing prior to applying wax?  The 3m product says it can be painted over, so I don't think it needs to be, but I thought I would ask.

2.  What is a good wax that is going to complement the hand glaze and not dull the finish?  I have heard Maguire's #26 Yellow Wax is good, but I want to hear what is working the best for you guys.  Keep in mind my car is bright yellow:

Oh yeah, I will also post plenty of pics after the show  :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

From a post:
1. Wash once with Meguiars soap (very detailed washing doing sections of the car at a time. scrubbing it all clean)
2. Quick wash to remove anything i might have missed
3. Rinse and dry thoroughly with California squeegee and chamoi
4. Claybar/Cleaner wax (only if you need it)
5. 3M Glaze (this stuff is THICK and hard to remove. will make your arm sore but it lasts a LONG time and makes the car shine like crazy)
6. Meguiars Gold Class Wax
7. Meguiars Polish
