This car is local to me (but not mine obviously). It seems to be very nice but I'm trying to figure out what this thing is realistically worth. His asking price just a guess and I think he's going to drag it up to the Nats this weekend to see what he can get. I know some of you are looking for one of these...  :scope:

Car's in beautiful shape. No pics of the undercarriage though. If I was looking for that exact car I'd probably pay close to 15k. But in today's market and it still carrying the stigma of a small block 3rd gen, he might get 10k.

Troy,
Think he would want to trade for a very nice & clean survivor 74' Satellite.  :scratchchin:
Includes RR hood.

$12-13K depending equipment. By the moments A/C and Rallye wheels gives the little bit more.

I forgot one thing - it's mostly all original except it was repainted once a long time ago. It's been in Texas its whole life so if the interior/exterior looks that nice I can't imagine that the underside is too bad. I can look if necessary.

10k?  :o 15k?  :o :o  You guys are nuts!  Its a small block 73 SE!  Not that its in bad shape, because it looks pretty good, but c'mon. This is the reason muscle car prices have skyrocketted.  I might give him 5k, but thats only if I really wanted it.

Of course if he wants 10 or 15k, all he has to do is put it on eBay:

its clean, but being a small block, low option car i really can't see him getting more than 7-8k for it  :Twocents:

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

41husk

I would bet he can fetch close to 10k.

8K tops... it is a 318 car, sorry, it just does not warrant anymore, no matter how much money he put into it.

I hope prices stay that way too.  Id give $8k for a car that clean if I had it.

Nacho-RT74

ok I'll try to post the GREAT CONDITIONS WIW cars I think are ACTUALLY fair on a 73/74... maybe just needing some TLC in some cases.
Everything depending of equipment of course
SB SE: 12-14K
BB SE: 13-15K
Hardtop SB ( Rallye ): 14-16K
Hardtop BB ( Rallye ): 16-18K

72s... about 25% more.
71s are another story.

I mean on TODAYS standarts... don't keep in the past with OOOOOOOOLD prices... you need to refresh guys, you are stuck on 2 years ago.

Nacho, I still don't think late 3rd gens are worth near what you're saying.

I might pay 10-15k for a 340 or 440 Rallye in that condition, but a SB 73 SE just really isn't worth that much yet.

Alot of people are saying 8k, so maybe he could get that.  I still wouldn't pay 8k for it.

But 12-14k, no way.

twilt

It looks to be a VERY nice car but considering the non desirable color, 318, and Opera windows.... I cant see more than about 10k. Personally, I would not even pay close to that.

hemihead

All I ever see them go for is 6 - 8k, even on E- gouge. A 318 3rd Gen is not that desirable. It was just basic transportation, not even a performance model.

Unfortunately, the car is "color challenged" ..... and (worse yet) a small block.  Makes for a tough sale.   :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

Gas prices are making them somewhat desirable, at least to me anyway.  I wouldnt give up my BB but if I had another one, it would be a SB car.
