BB head has broken exhaust stud.....how deep was the original stud hole...

All the other studs are in pretty tight and I prolly would booger one up trying to take one out to measure how deep. Will try to drill and retap before over drilling and using a heli core. Anyone know....

On stock heads they go right into the water jacket.

about 1/2" to 1", depending on the stud, it can go in further than that, but I've not seen too many exhaust stud bolts that go deeper than 3/4"
