OK, I don't have any pics, I didn't have my camera with me today. I was looking for some parts for my '70 Duster, the guy said he had a complete running '70 Duster for $2,500, so we go back to take a look. Along the way I notice a derelict '70 RR, so I casually walk over to check it out. 383 4spd air grabber car, looks like everything is all there, but needs a complete resto. Hood, pistol grip, motor trans, all there. the guy says it has a dana60 rear. I thought you could only get that with a 440 or hemi, but he said the car has the super trak pak. not sure about the original color. I asked him how much and he said 15K, I told my buddy the guy was smoking something. BTW it is in Tucson and looked to be rust free.

Harlow

I'm going to guess that 15K might be too much...but pictures would really help. By the way I'm in Tucson as well. ;D

4 grand for the whole car? the hood is worth 2 grand. are you one of these guys that is stuck back in the late 80's?

Harlow

Does it run? Is it numbers matching?

lumpy

non running. I can only assume that it is #'s for that kind of money. I am not interested in the car, mainly because he is set on his price. Just wondered what you guys thought it might be worth. So far it looks like is worth more in parts :shruggy:

Yes, I'm stuck in the 80's.  I think you know how much it is, so pay what you are willing to pay

terrible one

They didn't make super track packs.  Trac pack's had a 440 4spd dana 60.  If that guy wants to lie to you offer him 4 grand

Actually I'm pretty sure they did make a Super Trac-Pac.

Yeah, I edited my post after I found out they did

I just ran a quick search and it appears that asking prices for numbers matching 383 4-speed air grabber cars are up to  $40k on Hemmings and other sites and in the high $40k range on eBay. I couldn't find production numbers beyond the engine/trans combination but since the Air Grabber was optional I'm sure there aren't a lot around. If it's complete and rust free then he may get what he's asking - especially if it was originally a high impact color.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

konigcharger

there is one for sale locally good driver NOM he wants 26k for it

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

not avail with a 383

lumpy

So who's got the final word on the trak pak? I know in the Mopar world there are never any sure things. I know where there is a '69 'Cuda Fastback with a Mod interior, that was only supposed to be available on  notchback cars. What about '72 six pack cars, '70 Dodge Daytonas, Hemi Station Wagons, Dana 60 383 cars. It is an "N" code 383 car, I looked at the vin. The guy may just not know any better, or maybe he knows more than we think. Anybody know "for sure"?

Old Moparz

I paid $16K for this car less than 2 years ago just as you see it in the pics. It's not numbers matching, but it was originally a 383 4 speed coupe, with an 8-3/4" rear. It came with a fresh 440 HP, a 4 speed core that I had gotten rebuilt, air grabber, new paint, new interior, new suspension, new quarters, & more. I think with another $1000 to $1200 at the most, I'll be done. I need brake lines, radiator recored, an exhaust system, & some minor items.

Without pics it's hard to say what the RR you saw is worth, but the car should be much, much better for $15K. I looked at several drivers for that price before I found mine.

NICE CAR!! I agree with you about the price being too high. I am not currently in the market for one, just recently purchasing a '71 Charger RT and a '70 340 Duster.
