lately my 318 in my 74(late 60's motor) pickup have developed a bad rattle from the rocker area when im driving it and tends to wanna overheat. If i give it alot of gas the rattling get louder. even does it with the dist. in different spots.

The carb is running alittle rough( from leaking air) if the helps or not.

Any suggestions to fix it?

Have you checked your oil? I don't have an answer of what it is exactly, but I think with the overheating and knocking could be the same problem if you are low on oil or if your pump isnt working or something like that.

just my two cents

Did you say the carb is leaking air ?

That would make it "lean". Lean mixtures burn fast & erratic, could be the problem. Just like having advanced timing.
