I have some sad news to those of us who knew the Pinkertons from Oklahoma. Jennie Pinkerton passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home. She had been ill for quite some time but as you can see made it to Boerne one last time. We will miss her smile and personality. Her husband is Jerry Pinkerton a man I feel priveledged to know.

Pictured here behind their 68 Charger is Jennie

Lordy.. My prayers to the whole family.. Didn't her son Hap and his wife bring their 8 month old baby to the show as well? Man, it's full-circle for the family at Boerne... Life-cycle with Mopars..... She was a presence at most Boerne Meets I've ever gone to..... I'm so glad I conversed with her briefly there...

Does anyone have any pics of the Honey Gold SE car??  If you don't want to post them, shoot me a PM.

Thanks!
Paul

Paul,
If you mean the one with the white vinyl top in the photo viewed from above, it belongs
to some friends of mine near Waco.  He drives a '73 or '74 Roadrunner that is the same color.
The Charger is his wife's.  I can get you some contact information, if you want.

Jerry
There's a difference between ignorance and stupidity.
Ignorance is not knowing any better.
Stupidity is knowing, yet doing it anyway.

I believe it was Jim Schroeder or something like that from Texas that won peoples choice award.

Mike Schrader

The top two pictures show the Peoples Choice winner...

Tommy's '68 Hemi Charger is super nice as well...

John's road tested Charger... THANKS for driving down again... Y'all come back, 'Heah?!

Sorry to hear of her passing.  Jerry is a great guy... always very friendly.  I hope his good friends show him their support to help him now...

Took him to the RainForest Cafe here in Houston...... I think he had a good time.. He really loved the Charger Meet and all you guys......

Here's some footage I shot on Saturday.  ;D

Wes didn't sound too sure that we would have a Boerne meet next year.  I was also surprised that the cruise was "informal" this year.  ???

In Wes' defense, he's been doing this every year it's been going on.... Maybe someone local could help.. I'm in Houston, so logistically, it could be difficult unless it's all the duties there at the day.. I'll call Wes and ask...... Thanks for the video !!!!

By the way he "thanked" the city of Boerne, I got the impression he has been getting resistance from them.  Maybe another reason why the cruise was "informal" this year?  Makes me wonder if it's time to find another small central Texas city that values our business  ???

I very much appreciate Wes and Geri putting this on every year!  :yesnod:

James,,
I'll check on that.. I know there are many car events throughout the year at the square... Seems we've done our part in keeping the square clean.... Hopefully it'll stay the same or something similar.. The wives love going to this gathering for the shopping....  The informal cruise was just a case of time it takes to get everything lined up to get a large group together and heading out.... So many people are regulars to the show, so I think some just wanna veg out after the heat of the day... I know that was my excuse, especially with Baby Julie I have now... Pool time !!!

To All,

Just wanted to let you know that myself and my family had just returned from a five day vacation in the Big Bend.  We found out about Jennie's passing when we got back yesterday evening on this website.  Blue Pentastar, thank you ever so much for posting that message on the Boerne thread.

I visited with Jerry Pinkerton on the telephone last night, I guess we talked for nearly an half hour.  He said that several of the Charger Registry members had attended Jennie's funeral on Friday, and many others had sent flowers, made phone calls, or many other thoughtful acts.  Jim Rodebaugh has been checking on him at least four times a day and Hap was staying with him until last night.  J.D. lives right down the road and is also checking on him.

Jerry and Jennie were married 47 years, and of course he is devastated.  But Jerry is also a very strong Christian, as was Jennie, and that is helping him immeasurably in pulling through this.  He said several times how much he appreciated the kind thoughts and prayers and to thank everyone.

I would also like to thank XS29 on his compliments concerning Ethan's artistic abilities.  That was very kind.  We had to leave early Sunday before the meet ended as Levi had a function for the Annapolis plebes in San Antonio.

Finally, I want to thank Troy for all the hard work he does on this site.  I don't post very often, but I read the posts whenever I get the chance.  That was how I found out about Jennie.

May God bless America,
