A life long drean has been to own a '69 Charger GL. Of course, there are probably only a few hundred replicas in North America. I have only even seen one on the road in over 25 years and that from a distance as it was turning a corner going out of site. So now a little over a month ago I FINALLY come into posesion of my dream car, BUT I'm having restoration and paint work done so I can't get it for several more weeks -- seven weeks after the purchase! Naturally, every waking moment my mind is on this car. SO to get to the point, driving south today on i-43 near Milwaukee, heading home (I'm in the passenger seat reading the second MOPAR mag on trip so far and of course thinking hard about the GL), I look up and what do I see flying north across the lanes, but a GL!? Not only have I lived in WI for almost ten years and never seen one, but to imagine I am sitting there reading a MOPAR mag and dreaming of exactly this car when there it goes by. There have been a few occasions where things like this in life have happened before, and I know they happen to everyone. My question is: what is the meaning or is there none at all? A big coincidence? ???

This is a documented phenomena.  As soon as you purchase a unique car, especially after not seeing 1 in the last 5 years, you will see 5 within the first month of purchase.  Don't feel bad, it happens to everyone.  Give it some time and you will feel privileged to ever have seen that GL in the wild.

Sounds familiar!  While riding with GNRL01 to Dukefest last fall with his General Lee on the trailer behind us, we barely got out of Des Moines and saw another GL headed the other way on the back of a semi trailer!?  There used to be one other running around here but that was years ago and its long gone.  Neither of us had seen one around here since and what are the odds of us seeing one while on the way to Dukesfest with his?   :scratchchin: :shruggy:

As long as you don't see yourself driving the other car it's all good.

Back N Black

Its because HLPAG boys are mass producing these cars, eventually they will be on every street corner. :yesnod:

A week before I got my coronet I saw a 70 bee in a muffler shop!

I live 45 minutes north of Milwaukee, and I know of 2 GL's in this area that are drivin' yearly :yesnod:

Old Moparz

I was thinking it might mean that your car was finished, & that the guys in the shop used it to get lunch.  :D
