I recall this thread from last year and read that some folks use two throttle return springs on their cars.

I realize this may be mandatory at drag strips but what about everyday use.

Have you ever had a throttle return spring break leaving you with the throttle hung open?

My car is a long way from seeing the road but I was curious as to what others have done and how you set it up.

Please share your thoughts and experiences with us.

Thanks in advance.

Mike, I run more than 2 springs.

I believe you are doing more of a concourse resto right, so I really don't know the right answer.

I have had a spring break on me. :o Nothing spectacular happened, just slammed it into neutral and shut it down as fast as I could.

So I choose to have some back ups.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I always run 2
turningoff the ign to save the engine can lock the steering causing even more damage if you are not careful

Thanks for the replies fellas.

I was thinking about running two, "just in case" and I've got some time to decide.

I was looking at AndyF's site and saw these pictures of dual throttle return springs.

He makes some pretty neat stuff I must say.

Lot's more interesting items here:
