Hey guys.  I have a big, upright 80gal compressor that i want to install in my garage.  Any tips? do i bolt it to the concrete floor? do i put rubber down at the feet to keep it quiet? any help is appreciated.

Take the air from outside (less dust) and plumb it with copper to dissipate the heat quicker.

I mounted mine to a skid. Then I hard piped the shop and used a flexible braided hose from the compressor to the shop piping.

Should not bolt compressor directly to concrete floor. Not good for the compressor. Go to your local sporting goods shop and buy three hockey pucks (assuming you have three legs on your compressor). Drill a hole through the pucks and place the pucks under the feet, then bolt the compressor down.

mine is still mounted to the wooden pallet that it was shipped on....been fine...even has that extra space to get to the drain valve to let the water out

Great idea for big compressors. I bought a consumer 33gal upright from Sears and built a small enclosure outside
my garage for it. I allowed for plenty of ventilation and hard piped/hard wired it in to the building.

In plumbing your compressor may I recommend installing traps along the lines for moisture collection. I would also recommend an air dryer if your going to do any painting. At a minimum you will want a regulator and filter.
