For those of you who don't know, I work for an oil spill response company in the bay area.  So my boss called me around 5 last night, and I spent the next 7 hours driving the boat that you see in the pictures.  There was a pinhole leak in one of the pipes running from the pier to the shore.  I don't know exactly how much leaked into the water, but it wasn't a major catastrophe.  This is at one of the bay areas biggest storage facilities, so if the clamp doesn't gas prices will go up even more. :RantExplode:

I wish I remembered to bring my camera instead of using my cellphone.

Did you guys have enough kitty litter to soak up all that oil? ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Rocky

No, we use absorbent pads.  They are commonly referred to as "diapers" There are also linked rolls that we put in the water called "sausages".

What refinery was that?  Do they know you put these pics on the net?  i would think they would not like that very much.

Well I guess he's not going to tell you what refinery that was now is he!

Rocky

It wasn't a refinery, it is a storage facility.  Basically, some of the refineries in the Bay Area store their products here until they need them.  They knew we were taking pictures, they were too.  Pictures help document times and events, they are also used by my company and the oil companies for training and learning so we can hopefully avoid these problems in the future.  I'm not going to name the company because it wouldn't serve any real purpose, but anyone familiar with internet searches could easily find out.

PocketThunder

My company does mostly refinery work and we have to get permits to take pictures and the refinery looks thru our pics before they release them back to us.  I just assumed that this might have similar conditions but i guess its just a patch on a pipe, nothing that could be used by the terrorist to plot against us..
