A member of the 70 Registry has a silver 999 R/T and there was a Petty Blue 999 70 Charger being flipped multiple times faster than flapjacks on EBAY recently.

There was a guy on the old site. I'm not sure if he made it over here but I believe his name was Jake. He supposedly has a Hemi Orange 999 '68 R/T.

Don, that blue Charger was actually an original silver car according to the seller at the time. He had the carpet up and dug through some engine bay paint and found silver. I bid on that car, but got beat by a flipper. He's tried many times since, but never got what he considered a profit.

I did find what looked to be a Green Go 69 Charger R/T at Carlisle with the 999 paint code but I think the tag itself was a fake.

The paint code was actually 99 99 on the tag........also coded for white interior (currently had black)

Has a build date of 11/18/68 when a lot of Charger 500's were built on that date as well.

Also had the Daytona Y39 special order code on the tag as well........heres a pic

Other than that I've never seen/heard of a 999 69 Charger

Chris that is R/T S.E.  ;)  Here's another pic of my car. I have to thank a few of my friends and the guys at the body shop for talking me into painting ot the original color. It was all cut in and ready to become a Plum Crazy car. I had to restrip it after the body work was done so they could cut everything back in with the silver you see now.

Spike, that is my new favorite color combo on a 70 Charger

Dan, what is the color?

What do you think of that Carlisle car tag I posted......real?

Chris

That one looks weird to me. Don't the original tags have a punch hole and a slight bend in one of the corners from being put on?

Not all 69 tags have a hole but all original ones should have a corner bent a bit when they removed one screw to paint underneath the tag......

I think all the St Louis tags might have had a punch of some sort......all the 70 Chargers have this (dont quote me on that though)

Just another little tidbit here. I just looked at a 69 Superbee for sale, pretty bad shape, but I wrote down the fender tag codes.
The paint code line started as A6 A6................paint code was stamped twice.

69_500

I have seen quite a few fender tags over the years that have the paint code repeated.

As far as the color of the 999 Charger 500 its a sort of V2 orange that isn't quite V2. It has a more metalic light orange hint to it. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of the car. I know I have the fender tag info wrote down here somewhere. In all honesty its about the same shade as the 68 Bengal Chargers.

Considering the tag you have a photo of that has 99 99 in the fender tag, I don't think its a real tag. I haven't ever seen a tag like that before, but then again just because I haven't seen one doesn't mean it didn't exist.

69_500

The reason I say that it looks like a fake tag is because of the spacing of the codes. I haven't ever seen a tag that has all the codes that organized, and not radomly spaced.

That car is much better in special order- silver , than another car done up in plum crazy purple.
