I guess it's the Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village now.
We used to go there when I was a kid but I haven't been in many years. I have a buddy who is going to be in the area and I was suggesting that he go there.

Has anyone been there in recent years? Is it worth the visit?

I think it'd be worth a look.  Been some time since I've been there but always kinda cool to see all that stuff.   :yesnod:
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

:yesnod: And there is a LOT more than just Ford stuff there (even some Chrysler products).

I was at the ford museum a few years ago.  There is something for everyone.  Everything from cars to tractors, trains, and planes.  Ford cars are by far in the minority IMO.  They do have quite a few that they showcase but I felt it was more of a "car" museum than a Ford museum.  I was only there for a few hours but you really need a whole day to take it all in.
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

Ok,  for anyone who is really familiar. I grew up in northern Illinois and we used to go there sometimes but
A: I was a kid and didn't know it was in Dearborn let alone Michigan - has it always been there?
B: I only remember it as being Greenfield Village, I assume the Henry Ford museum was added sometime in the last few decades?
C: I remember it as being REALLY cool as a kid and you needed to spend quite some time to see it all and there was tons of stuff to see.

Oh, and D: I know it's blasphemy but I'm hardcore Mopar for classic muscle etc but I'm not a huge fan of much of the recent Mopar quality, politics (Benz) , corporate decisions and styling (although not by any means all of the styling, some are still cool) and so my muscle is Mopar but my daily drivers are Ford for the time being and for that I'm unapologetic.  Henry Ford did great things anyway. That's another thread though so please don't jack it with this issue. I'd like to hear about these museums because I plan on going back to Illinois and Michigan hopefully next year and would like to go there if it's still cool.

I went as a kid several times.   Obviously haven't been since I relocated years ago but the whole village and museum was a great learning experience.

We were there 2 years ago.  Henry Ford Museum is EXCELLENT, and not only Ford (small portion in the whole thing actually).  Greenfield Village is VERY cool too, especially for kids.  We went in June.  Beautiful.  Plan on ATLEAST a FULL day if you are visiting both. (They are at the same location).  They have a pretty good website.
