Hi all

My car has been running like a dog for months now, but that's mainly due to money and time spent on it. The other day I changed to a duel plane manifold and while I had the manifold off I thought I'd check the pushrods for movement (just to see if they were lose). Pretty much all of them I could spin around with my hand. Should I be able to do this? I thought if any of them were underload I wouldn't be able to due to the spring pressure. Or am I just mad? I just want to get my car running right.

Cheers

under light load with the valves closed the pushrods will spin , with the valve open the load is increased & the pushrods will not spin

Thanks Chryco,

I've ordered a set of adjustable rockers as I think mine might of had it. I was also thinking of ordering some 3/8 pushrods. Will these just drop in or will there be clearace issues?

Cheers

What engine , the big blocks typicaly have clearance issues with 3/8 pushrods beside the intake port & heat crossover port

Super68

It's a 383 with 906 heads.

I agree with Chryco Psycho, everytime that I have used the larger 3/8 pushrods you need to do some grinding for clearance to make them work.

Cool, I think I'll just stick with the stock 5/16.

Thanks again
