I am working on the quarter pannels on my 73 I have the rear tires off and the car jacked way up in the back to make the quarters easier to work on, well I went to start it up, and I got nothing.  I jumped it across the starter relay and it fired up.  Would having it jacked up effect the NSS?  What might the problem be.

My car has done that a couple times out of nowhere.  It was in the shifter.  I pulled it down through all the gears and firmly back into Park and it fired right up both times.

No, is a mechanical action by an internal cam. No hidraulic.

It could be just the brown wire internally broken
