And because I am feeling so incredibly lazy right now I'll just copy and paste my other post from moparts. I want to know what you guys here at dc.com would do?

I Found a clean old farm truck yesterday and want to know if its worth messing with. I rode to my girlfriends grandparents house, which is in the country somewhere in Alabama, which could be anywhere I guess.
Anyway her grandpa has a clean, original paint, short bed, half ton, original paint, rust free body, 67-69 Dodge truck sitting out behind the field. Hes got no real interest in Mopar or anything, it was just a farm truck they used until it got too old and they replaced it with a newer truck. Its been sitting a few years, but everything is original, unmolested, in great shape. it would probably need the usual tinkering to get it running, it is a 2 wheel drive I believe. I didn't get a good up close look at it but it is a solid old man truck.
My question is: Is it worth fooling with? Whats it worth? I could probably get it pretty reasonable. When I asked my gf if he'd sell it, her reply was "Who would want it?" so they arent attached to it at all.
I'm not a truck guy at all, but this just seems like too cool a truck to let it sit and rot. I'll see if I can find a pic of a similar truck. This one has round bullet style taillights I believe. And it is a short bed.
What would you do?

If youve got the room and the extra cash and a desire to bring it back to life, what do you have to lose?  Those are neat old trucks.   :yesnod:

If I could find a cool old truck on the cheap, I'd buy it.  I don't think they are worth much, but a truck can be really handy if you don't have one already.

i'd buy it, but i love them old dodge trucks....i have a 62, 2-63's (one 1 ton, one short bed (in peices right now), a 69, a 70, a 65 parts truck, and a 64 parts truck....
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

When I was sixteen my older brother put together a 67 longbed. He redid all the interior and put new dual exhaust and new silver paintjob. This with slots made the truck look great. He drove it for about a year before I bought it from him. I sold the truck about a year later and I still regreat it. It had a polyhead 318 with a three on the tree. If you tried to speed shift it it would always hang in neutral between first and second. But it was a great truck. Buy the truck and if you decide you don't want to let me know. If it is a shortbed with no rust I would like to have it. A bigblock and a minitub would look bitchin.
