Ahhh....I remember those days. I was only a teenager then. Could not talk dad into the nice '69 4 speed Hemi Roadrunner for $10,500obo or the '68 Charger 383 4speed for $2,500. Were those adds out of Old Car Trader? Even without money I used too tear those things apart looking for Mopars.

He did pick up a nice orange/black 1970 Boss 302 Mustang around that timeframe at an auction for $2,500 though. Ford or not that was a cool looking car.

Some guy scanned the ads from some old Auto Traders on this site: http://www.thepontiactransampage.com/oldforsale.html It's a Pontiac site but I grabbed all the Mopar stuff he had.

:iagree: Auto Trader prices have always been high. If those same ads were in a newspaper, they would have more than likely been much cheaper.

Still, I wouldn't quibble over those prices today! :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Here are a few for sale adds. The first 3 adds are from a local car classified magazine called Auto Buyer from about 1979. Pictures 4 and 5 are for sale adds out of Hemming Motor News from about 1978 - '80 or so.

This is killing me! Two '69s for $3,200?! I'm surprised how cheap the E-bodies were going for back then. They seem to have really outpaced the B-bodies in value big time.

Look at it in perspective.  You can buy a '92 Z28 Camaro fairly inexpensively right now.  Are any of you jumping to go get one?  Nope.  And in 20 years, it'll probably worth some good money and you'll kick yourself for not buying it.  :::Shrug::: Remember, people HATED the winged warriors when they were new.

I can remember buying a 440 h.p. from a junk yard in '86 out of the back of a super bee trunk for $25 and the guy argued with me over it being a buick 420!Those were the days!Anybody else remember when junkyards had bitchin deals?
