It has been 20+ years since I have had my AC compressor on my 440. I can not remember if that compressor made a vacuum cleaner sound. Sort of like a whining sound. But come to think of it, in the movie "Bullitt" it did make a whining sound when the "Black Charger made its turns or close up of the front end. As a kid in 1967, watching the filming, I faintly recall that Black Charger making a lot of vacuum cleaner noise. Funny thing was Steve Mcqueen was close by and never even thought of asking an autograph, just interested in that Black Charger. LOL I guess everyone thought that it was some kind of super charged engine. Well I think now we know, its just the AC. LOL. Nevertheless if anyone is reading this, would you confirm if yours makes the same noise? Please let me know what you think.  Thanks

Actually you should barely be able to hear the A/C compressor and it shouldn't be noticeable whatsoever a couple of feet from the car.

If it's making a noticeable noise, it could be low on oil, or have some mechanical malfunction.
