340 oil pan feels very tight

The oil pan  on my 340 doesn't want to go on.  Is there something I should be looking for it seems very tight, I don't want to force it.  Any suggestions?

did you replace the oil pump and pickup tube(don't know the proper name)  Maybe it's too long and stopping the pan from seating correctly.

yes I did but it looks to be identicle to the one I removed.  I got it on but it was not easy, I sure hope it's OK.  I guess I will find out soon.

is the pick up tube or windage tray interfering with the oil Pan ?

Some HV oil pumps sit so low that they interfere with the pan......Use a little sealer, tighten down pan and u will be fine.....This happens quite often.....Kim..........
