Pretty cool 69 on ebay that warrants some discussion.  This one is 1 of a reported 56 base XP model 69's that was optioned with the V21 Hood Performance Treatment.  Even more rare is the fact thats an SE model to boot.
So far its the first F8 green car (with the V21) I have registered (both XP & XS)   This car needs to be restored correctly IMHO

Man, you've got good eyes. Took me a while to see to focus in on the V21.

Wish I had the scratch to get it. :rotz:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Looks like a solid car for resto. Apparently the seller is not aware of the V21 option as most would publicize any rare options like that.

THE COLONEL

Well, The Colonel is registered as one of those 56, V21 options.  It is an original 318 car too.  That has to be even more rare!  I don't believe the guy that had it before me, knew that either, even though he somewhat replicated it, and of course I didn't know it until I got it! :icon_smile_cool:

Here is an illustration of the V21 for those that have not seen it!

Car built February 25, 1969, headrests were mandatory after January 1, 1969.

The front seats have the provisions for them, see attached pic.

Auction description states they are in the trunk:

"Complete car current registration and will be a easy restoration.  There are some parts in the trunk headrests, top door pads and some chrome. Thanks and good luck."

Did learn something, as Galen's book does have a code for headrest delete for 1969.

There is a 68 GTX in our regional hpacmopar.com car club with one headrest on the drivers side, as coded on the broadcast sheet.  Odd looking, but you could specify that when ordering prior to January 1, 1969.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

Cool car. I would love to see how that V21 looked on an F8 car.
