440 Oil pick UP

Hey everyone,

I'm still having this dilemma about this darn oil pick up. One thing is for sure, Mopar performance, Melling, Milodon, and Moroso or any other parts distributor DOES NOT carry an oil pick up designed for the 402 oil pans. 402s were strictly designed for B bodies so that also would clear the K member. I want to keep my 68 Charger original and with numbers matching engine components. Unfortunately no ones reproduces the oil pick up for that pan.

Here's another issue, 402s have the baffles and the only pick up that would actually work is the "Dog leg" , "offset", or "Curly". Year One had suggested buying one that has the dog leg tube and cutting it. The other is getting the straight one and make the bends myself.

I cannot believe that there is nothing out there for the 402 pan that is also readily available. My old one is also trashed so I can forget about reusing it. I don't want to force the straight one and have the baffles push on it. Besides, its not correct.

My only idea of a solution is: 1) purchased the one from either Year One or Summit Racing made for a 6 quart pan, cutting it, and threading it.
                                            2) bend the hec out of the straight one and hope for that best, and possibly starve the engine of oil

If someone out there know of a source or another solution, Please let me know. ::) ::) ::) :rotz: :rotz: :icon_smile_blackeye:
Thank you
