Cheap valve springs?

The cam in the motor is a comp 21-215-4 here's the specs http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Search/CamDetails.asp?PartNumber=21-215-4

They recomend the comp 926 spring, but these are half the money. This engine is in a pickup and will never see over 4500 rpm, usually will be much less. Could a guy save $40 and get buy with them?

Anybody ever use them?

Dave, i would use the recommended spring for the Comp cam. The E-bay springs only have a little over 200 lbs open pressure which seems a little on the weak side for my liking. 

Comp makes a nice long lasting (durable) valvespring....spend a few extra bucks and sleep well at night

Sadly the word "cheap" should not apply to engine rebuilding or brake work IMHO

I agree, when a cheap spring breaks or allows a valve to float at high rpms and puts  a valve into a piston ,-  it's not so cheap anymore

I was thinking the same, just trying to put this thing together as cheap as possible, but we better not skimp on the springs. The guy that put the heads together originally did a really crappy job .  Hope to have it running again soon.
