Holly Carburetors on 440's

This question is mostly for Just69Chgr but I encourage anyone and everyone else to add to the discussion:

Could you talk a little about the Holly carb you used on the CH4B manifold.  I looked at the engine compartment picture on your website and you can just barely see the carb peaking out beneath the unsilenced air cleaner.  What model carb did you use.  I looked at the current street/strip 750cfm offering (with electric choke and vacuum secondarys)  on the Holly website and it shows a chrome plated carb.  Yours appears to be the correct golden chromate color.  Also, the carb shown on the Holly website is the traditional 4160 (I had one on my old 66 Ford Fairlane 390GTA) with vacuum secondarys and electric choke.  The bowls appear to be longer than the one you are using.  What about clearance problems with the base of the unsilenced air cleaner.  And what about linkage issues at the carb.  Did you buy any special pieces for the carb itself to hook up the linkage.  And finally, I get confused about square bore and spread bore.  What is the CH4B and what is the Holly?  I know you don't want to have to use an adapter block since this would increase the height of the air cleaner and cause hood clearance issues.

PS------why did you use the Holly instead of a Edelbrock.  Wouldn't it have been more correct?  Isn't  the Edebrock the current version of a Carter AVS (except for the chromed plating)  and weren't they used originally on 69 Chargers?

Thanks.

The carb is a holley 750 vacuum secondary with a Proform main body upgrade. I'm familiar with it because i helped Chris sort it out awhile back. The car runs very strong for such a mild combo and Chris actually races it now and then at the track !

I'm sure he'll be along soon to answer your other questions.  ;)
