Ok guys so I did need new head gaskets, but after a couple of quick runs to the store, I took my 70 383 out on the highway and low and behold the oil leak returned.  When I got home I rechecked bolts pcv breather etc. all still good I even switched my power brake booster hose connection to the carb with the pcv in case the carb was clogged at the inlet, but still it leaks from the dipstick.  I pulled the new breather from the drivers side while the engine was running and it stopped, I put it back and it started again.  I just happened to be working on it with a friend of mine with a 318 dart he just rebuilt so I put his breather in to see if mine was just clogged, but no it started pumping out of the dipstick again.  I put my stock breather in which has an outlet for the hose that goes to the carb on and it stopped.  Problem is I have an aftermarket air cleaner which is open to the filter and has no hose connection.  Is this normal to anyone else??? Its like my engine is only happy when it pollutes???  Yeah its fixed now, but what is the reason? Are my stock heads too restrictive for the engine, or the cam, it is a 230/236 duration, but come on! Could there be any other reasons?

383 9:1 compression ratio stock 906 heads 770 holley street avenger, windage tray, edelbrock single plane, headers... but stock she was a non high performance 2barrel.

Sorry Sext, but this is the first I remember reading about your troubles. Is this a fresh build??  I would have to say either way that you are losing compression past your rings. Pumping oil out the dip stick tube usually means your building pressure in the block where it should be @ 0 or negative pressure.

Have you tried pulling the stick and putting your finger over the end of the tube to see if it is building pressure?? You can also pop your oil fill cap and put your palm over the hole.  When doing so run the rpm's up some and see if it makes a difference..

:iagree: The engine is building crankcase pressure. Make sure the pcv valve is not malfunctioning. You could also try using 2 breathers to see if the problem persists.
