Stock exhaust size?

What was the original size pipes and muffler from the factory for a 440 , 68 R/T?  Was the tail pipe smaller
than the H pipe?

Yes.  The H-pipe is 2½" then steps down to 2¼" at the mufflers inlet all the way out to the tips

So the muffler is a 2-1/4" inlet and outlet, right? When I bought the car last year the seller
gave me a repo H-pipe and as I recall the muffler end seemed to tapper down some what.
I can't get to it right now because it is out in my shed for the winter. The car has Flomasters on it right
now, but I want to change them out and go with something more stock sounding.
