I bought a CR14 replacement gas tank for my 66.  this is the one that Quanta sells,  as well as about 20 or so various eBay stores vendors.
The provision for the original vent pipe was there was a grommet on the tank and a steel pipe fit through the grommet and extended to the center ot the tank, above the pickup strainer sock.  CR14 has a welded on tube with a nipple (perhaps this was how they did it in '67??)

I know the 90 deg. 5/8" dia. vent hose is available in the aftermarket, but to use CR14, I'll need to trim the original tube and use a 3-4" straight piece of 5/8" dia.  fuel/emission hose.  anyone know of a source for this type hose?  I found 1/2" fuel/emission for the power steering return hose @ NAPA, but no luck so far at parts counters for 5/8" dia. fuel/emission hose.

also, I got a 3/8" stainless pickup and a 3/8" line to the pump,, if I use a 5/16" stock type fuel pump will I have problems?

FWIW:  the Year One tank is different, or at least the finish is different,  I was @ Year One and they pulled one out for me to look at...

BTW:  I paid about $185 with shipping for the tank,, Quanta lists it for $219 before shipping.
