P-Nut Butter/Salmonella Outbreak.......

Well I'm sure most have heard about this today on the news and radio, but I just checked our p-nut butter and it's recalled!!!!  Unfortunatly, Chuck made a sandwich for our daughter earlier, so i guess it's a wait and see game for any side-effects.... on another note I think it's crappy that I have to mail the lid to "BFE" to get my money back...I thought I could take it back to Wal-Mart, and get another, but,....no,...you've got to jump through their corporate hoops....i think they try to make it hard to return a product figuring people like me that are pissed off will give up and drop it,....well, no sir, they messed with the wrong mommy today!!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!! Sorry to vent this, but it's just one of those "small" things like this that make people go POSTAL!!!!  (not that i would! )  My main reason for posting was to help alert!!!!

We had a tub of that Skippy pbutter with 2111 on the lid and it was about 1/3 used by my wife to make sandwiches and cookies for our daughters daycare classmates.  That was around Christmas time.  Nothing has been said about any sick kids since then.

I threw out the tub tonight.

Whew! Glad that didn't become a crisis here!

Skippy PB is safe guys (I thought it ironic that SKIP68 posted this) its PETER PAN and great value. I have 4 jars of it, the numbers aren't even on the lid of 3 (they rub off!), the fourth has the 2111.  They say toss it , I want my money back but have to spend to send in the lids? I had eaten the stuff but all it did was give me some serious gas My kids never ate large doses, but have had some "stomach bugs"
Serious quality control issue by a respected Con-Agra.
Do we buy imported made by foreignors- or domestics harvested by illegal aliens and made on a production line most likely staffed by illegal aliens. I can tell you these dirty jobs are difficult or impossible to staff with Americans with what they pay.

walmarts and grocery stores are giving refunds and collecting the numbered jars. the store that i use  has had 150 of them returned in the last 2 days.
