71-72 r/t tail light

when i bought my 71 r/t  it has on it 72 charger tail light, now i need to buy a set on r/t tail light

my question is, how can i know if on my car the tail light was black or grey?

I beleive they painted the bezels silver on 71 R/Ts and Superbees and black on the 72 Rallyes.

3 colors are used on 71 R/T bezels.
Here is a restored set that was on ebay recently.

does that mean if we see a 71 r/t with black bezel, they are not correct?

and if i understant de color, we have black, charcoal and grey?

Twilt is correct,there are a number of 71's  rolling in solid black,well frankly becuase it far easier to just spray black than to take the time to do it correctly! :yesnod:You have to have patience and a steady hand!I went with 2 colors instead of the correct 3 and I spent a few months working on mine.
Solid color is corrcet on 71 Rubber bumper cars and I beleive 72 Rallyes..
