Can anyone identify this balancer

Hi

Please help me identify this balancer which came off my 400 block. It has the following numbers on it "83184 - 318  3".
Does this mean it is for a 318 engine? The main issue, how can I be sure it belongs to the 400 engine which I have just finished reconditioning and getting ready to assemble back into the car.

I'm sorry I am repeating the same request posted in "how to balance an engine" but I need a reply soon.

You have  part # 3614374 stamped on the inside of the balancer.......stock for a 400

A smallblock and big block balancer is not interchangable....that is definately a BB cast crank (external balance) dampner.

I will carry in with the installation, and report further on the outcome of the engine in my other thread.
