  Hey anybody in the vicinity of Bear Mountain State park with the ability to get yer butts into a vehicle and head there this Wednesday night.   I'm gonna try to take a half day from work.

  A few of us were at Highland Friday night ( including E-booger ) and we're gonna try to make it there for this special 9/11 car show deal.   Here's the poop that I found online.

ON  SEPTEMBER 7, 2005 TO HONOR OUR LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICE PROVIDERS AND REMEMBER THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. 

THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL CAR SHOW. THERE WILL BE A $10 ENTRANCE FEE TO EVERY CAR OR MOTORCYCLE THAT ENTER THE VIEWING FIELD FOR TROPHIES, NO EXCEPTIONS, NO PRE-REGISTRATIONS, VENDERS FEE WILL BE $15 PER SLOT. 

ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO OUR LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICE PROVIDERS.

REGISTRATION OPENS AT 3PM THE DAY OF THE SHOW.

DASH PLAQUES TO THE FIRST 250 VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES. 100 PLUS TROPHIES WILL ALSO BE GIVEN OUT.

OPEN TO ALL YEAR VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES.

FUN FOR EVERYONE, MUSIC, RAFFLES, VENDORS AND FOOD.

Brian, I definitely want to come up for that show. I can't understand why they don't have their big show on a weekend? There's no way I can get out of work and get the car there before 7-8pm.

Regardless of my car situation, I want to go but can't find directions anywhere. If I'm coming up the Garden State Parkway, where do I go once in NY? You know I'll vote for your ride if it's spectator voting.

Oh crap.   I thought you've been there before for some reason      7 or 8 is pretty late... it'd be dark almost - probably not worth the trip.   I have no idea why they have a big show on a Wednesday but they do :shrug: 

I believe if you came up the Pallisades parkway you just head up and get off at 9W/202 but otherwise I end up coming from the NYS thruway coming south myself.    I have to get off the Harriman exit at the toll booths and getting around up and over on 6 to get to the park myself.   Maybe HemiDoug can give you better directions     

I got a good almost hour + trip myself from up north.   Maybe it'll be shorter with overdrive this year     I was hoping I'd be able to head down and check out Chalet E-booger and then head down via 9W perhaps.    1970GTX gets there in the front row every week almost but he heads down direct from work on the 9 side.
