This morning, I wasn't paying attention and couldn't stop in time and rear ended someone. Its my families old '86 volvo 240 wagon. My dad says it will cost more than the car is worth to fix it. I hit a lifted jeep and it didn't put a scratch on it but my front end is pretty bad. So now I'll have to get my Sport Satellite running this weekend because its the only transportation I have. This sucks so bad, I feel like an idiot, I always thought I was a pretty good driver and now this happened. Also my dad is pretty pissed at me, even though I owned up to it and didn't make BS excuses. How many of you guys got in accidents when you were in high school?

I did I hit a '93 Caddy Fleetwood right in the ass end, and to make it worse I was in the Charger when it happened. Hey like they say sh*t happens.

I didnt get into any accidents in HS. I didnt need the help of an accident to break stuff.   :P

just see if you can peice the wrecked car together and use mechanics wire to hold stuff on enough to make the car drivable. unless its past drivable.

Well in college as we can't drive cars yet when we are in HS, but I bumped into two cars in the 2 years I have been driving now, both were with the van of TNT mail, in parking lots you can't see shit through those tiny mirrors and the parking lots are tad more crowded and smaller than what you have in the US. It is fairly common those accidents happen, you are allowed 2 accidents per year...

Well, as for interesting wrecks, I was with a buddy in my ol' Cutlass and slid into a turn (it was raining) and crashed into the foyer of a restaurant right on the corner. It was late at night, and we backed out and drove away. The grille was punched, the bumper got pushed in some, and the hood was dinged. I broke one of the wooden columns that held up a portion of the entryways overhang, and ended up paying them $300 - got away kinda easy, I think...Now the place has three iron ploes sunk in and positioned around the curb...every time my buddy and I drive by it, we laugh.

I totalled my first car 2 weeks after I got my lisence... don't worry you guys will laugh about it one day.

about 8 months after i got my licensed, i got rear ended. it was pretty serious too. me and my friend were waiting to turn left at an intersection i was driving a 93 GMC Safari Van and the other dude was driving a 90some dodge something couldnt remember but it was small and he rear ended me doing about 40. think about it, a car traveling 40 mph and hitting a stationary van is gonna do some damage. his front end was completely smashed into billions of pieces. he was not wearing a seat belt and he hit his head on the windshield and you could tell becasue there was a bump on his forehead and there was a circular dent in the windshield with spider web cracks running everywhere from it. his arm had a 6 inch gash in it and was bleeding pretty bad all over the street. when he hit my van, my seat instantly snapped in half i dont know if that was a safety feature or because i weighed 260 some pounds at the time or a combo of both but i was on my back looking at the ceiling while my car was shot into oncoming traffic. luckily there was no one coming otherwise i would probably have been killed by hitting another car head on. my friend was launched forward, his seat did not break, we were both wearing seatbelts but his head hit the ceiling kinda. he said it hurt a little bit but not too much. my van got fucked up. the frame was all bent up in the back, the muffler was bent backwards and shot through the right rear tire, all the way through it. i tried to pull out of oncoming traffic and i couldnt because that tire was dragging across the ground locked up. i was really dazed and confused and had no idea what the hell happened until i looked behind me and saw a car all smashed up. i asked my buddy if he was alright and he said yeah so i get out and look at my van and im in disbelief. the two back doors were also broken shut and the back end was bent so bad that the sliding door would not open because the track was bent and caved in. i go to talk to the guy driving the other car and he steps out bleeding all over hell so im like shit ill call the police and tell em to bring an ambulance and all that. bottom line is he claimed it was his fault 100% we got about $3000 for the van from his insurance. nothing went on my driving record at all. we used the money to buy a newer van, an 01 Chevy Astro Van

Right out of HS i went to Vo-Tech School for autobody.  For one of my assignments i repainted my 86 K-car.  Less than 2 weeks later i'm waiting at a stoplight on a rainy Friday afternoon and a guy in a full size blazer slams into me.  The Trunk is totaled and he gets out and says sorry and i said, dammit, i just spent a couple weeks doing body work and painting this car!  But i didnt feel too bad, i was able to drive it home.  And you can guess what my next project in class was..?   full 1/4 panel and trunk replacement on a Dodge Aires :yesnod:

My first accident was in a 74 Duster. I was sitting in a median waiting for traffic to clear and WAM!!! Some motorcycle with a passenger on the back hit me in the drivers side rear quarter and they both went flying. They gave me a ticket for failing to yield righ of way. (I was sitting there!) As it turned out, The guy on the motorcycle was a Firefighter in the same Village where the accident occured and the cop was also from the same Village too. I couldn't get the ticket dropped...what a suprise!  I was 16 at the time so I guess it couldn't possibly have been the guy driving the bike talking to his passenger instead of watching the road and hitting me.

I was once a proud driver of a 90 Ramcharger. The traffic in NJ is awful and the comute was bad every day. Bumper to bumper and sudden stops were common. In one year I rear ended 2 cars. 1 a Toyota Camry I smashed the trunk lid/bumper/ wrinkled the trunk floor and of corse broke the tail lights, the other a Dodge Spirt was totaled. The Ramcharger meeded a bumper and 1 fog light from both combined. NOW you see why I will never own a car W/poly bumpers. I miss that truck!!

I was driving my Dad's 54 ford in about 1963 and a car parked along the side of a city street suddenly pulled out and their front bumper ripped the back portion of the right front fender off clear back to the passenger door.  Otherwise, the car was not hurt.  My old man was pissed and acted real crappy about it even though it wasn't my fault.  His insurance paid him $174 which he just kept and the car was driven like it was.  Can you imagine getting something like that fixed this day and age for that kind of money.  Well, about 3 years later, my brother and I bought a fender at the junkyard that was OK except for a 3-inch rust hole in the bottom for $5.  We intalled it on the car, fixed the rust hole with bondo, and sanded down and got the fender ready for paint.  We bought the paint for $16 and it was good paint too.  We drove the car to a local guys garage and masked the car ourselves to save money and had him "blow on the color" for another $15.  When my Dad saw it, he just shook his head.  Didn't really ever compliment us on our work.  But after that, he never gave us any crap when we wanted to work on one of the cars.  I guess he saw we could actually fix something.  I have been fixing and working on my own cars ever since and I am 61 now.  Hopefully, I will be able to continue to have fun with cars for a long time.

It was a relatively low speed collision (about 15 mph) and his jeep had almost no damage done to it. Since he had a lift kit on his jeep my car slammed the hood and grill into his bumper so the hood is bent up bad and the grill and headlights are smashed really bad, but my car's front fenders are fine, no damage to them at all.
