318 rebuild

I am looking to rebuild my 318 .I was going to go with a rebuild kit...is there any brand that is better then another and is there a book that can help me out?I am doing it in my shop class with the help from my teacher but i would still like a book for just a littlemore advice.

I would use Clevite / Michigan 77 brgs , Plasma Moly rings with a good name brand , Fel Pro gaskets ,Cloyes True double roller timing chain , Johnson Lifters , Melling oil pump
