This article is from the July 1967 edition of Popular Science. Thought you guys (and gals) might like to see it. It says the new Charger has a Chevrolet look from the rear. Yeah, right.

They could be right.  Anybody around here know what the back of a Chevrolet looks like?  :icon_smile_tongue:

They are talking about the rear window design, called a "tunnel back", that GM used on the 66-67 GTO, Chevelle, and Olds 442. Dodge perfected the look on the Charger, though.

Yeah, when something different shows up, people have a tendency to find SOMETHING similar to compare it to.  In retrospect it sounds a bit dumb, but I bet at the time, they thought it a valid comparison.

I like the comment about the gas cap "No effort was made to blend it in with the body lines of the car" - funny that their big complaint turned into one of the distinctive things that people love about that model :)

The article also said you could get a bench seat in '68 and that the '67 Chargers had full length consoles. I think both of those statemens are wrong.
