Think of it this way; If it was still a Dodge dealership it would have been leveled years ago for new modern show room.  With no trace of the past other than street signs.  At least the building still there and maybe someday someone with deep pockets could restore it :icon_smile_big: Just a thought. :icon_smile_wink:

Cool pics - thanks for posting them.

Ghoste - didn't you stop by there some time ago?  I thought I read that you also had photos.

Mean 318

Thats sad, but its nice to see its still around! I wounder if there is anything still inside? :o

Ghoste

Yeah, I have a bunch of pics from there too.  I went in the summer and there was someone using the servie dept. portion of the building so I stepped into the service area for about ten seconds but some of the locals were getting kind of antsy about my being there.  They were beginning to work their way over so I took off.
I talked to Norm about it and he also mentioned about trying to make a deal with somebody to buy the place and use it for some kind of auto related business.  I forget if siad a museum or something else.  Overall the building is fairly solid with a boarded up showroom so it wouldn't be impossible to do.  There was also a large warhouse across the street that Norm used back in the day but it burnt down some time ago.
Overall though, a cool experience.

(Shakey, you have an amazing memory)

There was almost the sister to it that had 50 AARs getting dropped off at one of the dealers. I did find that one last year

A couple of other Mr. Norm's paintings and a shot of Norm hisself dressed up for the Demon debut.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I used to drive by there on my way to work when the freeway was backed up real bad.  (back when i lived in Bensenville)

Well like someone else said at least the building is still standing and pretty much looks the same. Obviously the area around it has gone down hill. Amazing how the world has changed in 30-35 years. Of course I'm not old enough to remember it but have heard plenty of stories. One of those idiots shopping at Barrett-Jackson last week needs to go buy and revive it.
