Hood latch & safety latch paint colors, anyone have pics?

I just stopped in at the body shop that my Charger is in to check on things today, and my body guy wants to know what parts of the hood latch were painted body color, and what colors to paint the other parts? I mean the parts that are bolted to the bottom of the hood. I told him that the thick steel bar that bolts on the hood and serves as the catch for the main latch was painted body color, and that the safety latch and the handle and bracket were put on after the hood was painted. Am I right? If so, what color was the safety latch and the pull handle and the small bracket that supports the handle? Thanks. My car is a 68 BTW.

I have seen them both ways....either natural metal color or black zinc color.

Mine is painted black zinc
